Mynt Indian Cuisine

You can’t be a foodie if you don’t have a soft spot for Indian food. My girl and I decided to treat ourselves by paying Mynt a visit. Since our cheat meals are considered sacred, we took a risk by deciding to dine at a newly opened restaurant. That being said, Mynt exceeded our expectations on pretty much all fronts. And here’s why…


Though the restaurant’s space was a bit limited, I loved how they utilized it to the max. There was a little area meant for family gatherings, a few tables for 2, and a couple more with partitions for those who prefer dining with a little privacy.

If I had to use one word to describe the interiors, I’d say elegant.

I loved the colors scheme; the wooden floors, the black walls.. all of it!


A lovely lady named Vicky waited on our table and helped us pick pretty much everything we’d ordered that day. She was very sweet and professional and even educated us a little about the popular dishes in different parts of India.


Soon as we placed our orders, we were served complimentary assorted Papad with mint, tamarind and mango chutneys.

We’d ordered the Vegetarian Mynt Special; it had cheese-marinated broccoli, cauliflower and mushrooms with tandori marination, Paneer Tikka and a spicy, potato-stuffed Samosa.

Let’s all just take a moment to appreciate that platter. Aside from the beautiful presentation, every bite took us to vegetarian heaven. This is a Chef’s special for a reason. Loved it!

While we waited for our main dish, they served us some peach-infused lemonade as a palate cleanser. And that’s when it happened..

..the Daab Chingri had arrived.

As soon as she took away the top shell of the coconut, this amazing aroma took over and our mouths instantly started watering.

Daab Chingri is a dish that originated from the Bengal region. It’s basically prawns/shrimps cooked in coconut curry, with mustard, garlic, turmeric and other mild spices. It was the first time I’d tried it and I know for a fact it won’t be the last. Absolute perfection!

We decided to eat it with some of their garlic Naan. It came in fresh and warm, and I truly believe it was the best I’ve ever had. No joke.

They were very generous with the portions. We were forced to take some of it home because we no longer had room for more.

Since we knew it would take a while for us to get up and leave, we ordered a fresh pot of tea (Mynt Special Tea) to chit chat over.

Though the tea was infused with cloves, cinnamon and cardamom, it didn’t quite hit the mark for us. Not bad though.

I think this place has great potential and will probably generate a lot of buzz in a short time. Can’t wait to go there again and drag everyone I know along!
