This post is especially dedicated to anyone looking to tap into their inner carnivore.

I had the pleasure of dining at a newly opened Churrascaria in Masdar city last weekend. Here’s a summary of my wonderful experience at Ola Brasil.
Staff and Ambience:

Seeing as we literally had to drive past the “bon voyage” sign near Abu Dhabi Int’l Airport, you should know that this is the only con about our visit. That being said, it was actually nice to be away from all the noise whilst enjoying several delicious meals.

Chic interiors. Great seating options. We sat at a charming corner with rich teal walls, soft lighting, wooden floors and marble-top tables. I particularly enjoyed the latin lounge music that played in the background. There is something very soothing about the whole ambience which makes it an ideal choice if you want to impress that date of yours.

The staff were cheerful and welcomed us with beaming smiles. We were served by several waiters that were professional and quick on their feet. They were kind enough to show me around the grill shack.

Full disclosure, I didn’t have the slightest idea of what a Churrascaria was prior to my visit. For my fellow noobs, it’s a place that serves grilled/barbecued meats with some of that latin flame. One of the things I liked was how straightforward their menu was. The meals came in several packages. You could either stick to items from the unlimited salad bar, or dial it up a notch by adding 12 or 25 types of meat.

Soon as we placed our orders, we headed to the salad bar which was quite decent. It covered all the basic salads and all the dressings you can think of, as well as some continental food choices.

I helped myself to some of their roasted vegetables, creamy egg salad and some delicious sauteed chicken strips. A light and flavorsome appetizer!

Once we got back to our table, the waitress directed our attention to a little button we’d have to press once we were ready to start the meat sampling feast.

As the the button lit up, meat servers started showing up one after the other with flaming hot meat skewers on one hand and a huge butcher’s knife on the other. I was honestly overwhelmed by the variety of the meat cuts.

I admit that I have a selective memory, but lucky for you guys, I never forget something that tasted genuinely good. My absolute favorites were the lamb-chops, short ribs (to die for), chicken drumsticks with Parmesan cheese, and the top sirloin. Perfectly seasoned, tender and juicy.

I actually tried the grilled baby octopus just for the novelty of it, and was surprised to find out it tasted great!

We were informed that our meal wouldn’t be complete without the grilled pineapple to cleanse our palate.

Other cool things you should know:

– Brazilian nationals get a special discount. It’s always nice to see restaurants help in forming close knit communities.
– They also serve quality shisha only for AED 49
– They intend to fully utilize their huge outdoor area in the next couple of months so we can finally dine al fresco!
– Be sure to keep an eye out for the awesome discounts they post their Instagram and Zomato.

Final notes:

Absolutely deserves a visit or a 100. Ola Brasil definitely set the bar for char-grilled goods.

Special thanks to Chef Glaucio and the Ola Brasil team for the amazing dining experience! I look forward to the next time!
