I got held up at work today and didn’t get a chance to make lunch, so I did the next best thing; ordering in from one of the top rated healthy food restaurants on Zomato, Three S Nutrition!
I was not disappointed! I got the superfood salad which consists of kale, broccoli, avocado, topped with dried cranberries, roasted walnuts, chopped almonds and sesame seeds. Perfect for vegans! I had some grilled chicken added in for my portion of proteins.
It was a beautiful, colorful salad with a nice little crunchiness to it. I tried to avoid the dried cranberries as much as I could since they are notoriously high in sugar. There are several great dressings you can go with. The serving size was pretty huge which is why I saved some for dinner.
I also wanted to try their collard greens with an added serving of grilled salmon on their sides menu, purely out of curiosity. The kale and spinach were perfectly cooked and seasoned. About a couple of bites in, I noticed that it also had a sweet, caramel-ish aftertaste. So, I ended up sharing it with my sister to avoid messing up what I had going with the Keto diet. I checked in with the restaurant to see where the sweetness was coming from. Turns out the chef’s special recipe calls for half a tsp of brown sugar, which isn’t so bad (about 1.5 g of carbs). Overall, a wonderful side dish. Loved it!
Which brings me to my next point; it’s always best to check in with restaurants what their dressings and certain salads contain to avoid unintentionally stacking up on carbs.
I am officially a fan of this place. You can tell so much care and effort goes into to preparing the meals. Their staff members were super sweet and didn’t get annoyed with my incessant questions. They’ve got fresh and nutritious options that work for any kind of diet, really. Cant wait to try their other items or give them a visit!
